A bit about me and why I'm living out loud

My name is Lacresha Hayes, President of Living Waters Publishing Company. I am the founder of Christian Vitality magazine, a prophetess and Co-Pastor of Compassionate Healing Ministries International. I am also a part of RAINN's (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network) Speaker's Bureau.

I am the author of The Rape of Innocence: Taking Captivity Captive and Becoming: My Personal Memoirs. My first Christian children's book will be out next month. It is entitled The Culpepper Family. This first release will be a three in one book. I also have a poetic journal that will soon be released. It is entitled Poetic Infinity: Passion and Promise. I am working on two books, Full Exposure: Behind Church Walls and Mistakes Parents Make (subtitle is still pending).

I am a sexual abuse and domestic violence survivor. I came from a broken home and my life was once torn to a million shreds, impossible for me to ever put it back together again. I am happy to confession that I am a born again Christian. I love Jesus. I follow Him to the best of my ability, though like most people, I stray, lag behind, or get ahead of Him sometimes.

One day many years ago, God spoke to me and told me that I would "live out loud" for His name's sake. Let me tell you, when you are as imperfect as I am, that's a scary thing. Even today, I sometimes long for the privacy I could easily have if I shut up and quit writing. LOL! Well, that's not going to happen. As long as someone is writing me with testimonies of how my life, flaws and all, touched them, I'll continue to write and live out loud for God.

The purpose of this blog is four-fold: spreading awareness about sexual abuse and the issues it causes later in life, promoting my books (not as much for the money as for the message), keeping touch with friends, and the most important of them all, spreading the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

I hope to make new friends, help people and ultimately fulfill all four of those purposes.
